INLAND EMPIRE, CA – The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA/Agency) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Alexander to serve as the Agency’s next Deputy General Manager upon the retirement of Christiana Daisy.  He will join the Agency on November 4, 2024.

Mr. Alexander most recently served as Vice President and Director of Membrane Treatment for Hazen and Sawyer and prior to that was the firm’s West Regional Manager.  With nearly 30 years in the water and wastewater industry, he brings to IEUA extensive experience in the planning, design, and construction of water, wastewater, and advanced water reclamation facilities for municipalities and special districts across California.  This includes his integral role as the design manager for the membrane system for the Orange County Water District’s Groundwater Replenishment System and most recently serving as the Program Manager for the Water Replenishment District’s Brackish Groundwater Reclamation Program.  Mr. Alexander also has significant operations support experience assisting operations teams with analyzing, optimizing, and troubleshooting treatment systems for agencies such as the Chino Basin Desalter Authority.

“We are excited to have Kevin Alexander join our fantastic team at IEUA,” said Shivaji Deshmukh, General Manager.  “He has exceptional experience in integrated water resources having worked on significant projects across southern California that demonstrate the ‘One Water’ concept.  As a result, Kevin will bring tremendous knowledge that will help to guide the Agency’s capital improvement program to ensure that we can continue to maintain our critical infrastructure responsibly and support regional resiliency.”

As Deputy General Manager, Mr. Alexander will lead and direct the Technical Resources programs at IEUA including Engineering, Operations & Maintenance, Planning & Resources, and the Chino Basin Program.  He will also be responsible for the operations of the Chino I Desalter and the Inland Empire Regional Composting Facility.

“To join an agency like IEUA that has such a positive reputation in the water and wastewater communities is truly an honor,” said Kevin Alexander, incoming Deputy General Manager.  “IEUA is a known leader in advancing essential projects to support public health and local water supply reliability.  I am looking forward to providing my insight and guidance on the many complex and challenging projects the Agency will be embarking on.”
