INLAND EMPIRE, CA – The Drug Enforcement Administration marks Saturday, April 30 as National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., facilities throughout the region will be collecting expired, unused, or unwanted prescription medications throughout the community. Services provided are FREE and anonymous with no questions asked.

“Pharmaceutical chemicals can pose potential threats to the community when they are improperly disposed of in the trash or down the drain,” stated IEUA Board President, Steve Elie. “National Prescription Drug Take Back Day educates the public on the importance of safe disposal for unused, unwanted, or expired medications to protect the environment and our water-ways from harmful substances.”
The Inland Empire Utilities Agency supports the “No Drugs Down the Drain” campaign and its efforts to educate the public about the harmful effects of flushing unused, unwanted, and expired medications down our sewer systems. This program provides safe and proper disposal choices that protects the environment and local water supplies for the community.
